Biography

James Doane

Music has been a lifelong passion for me, beginning with my first guitar as a child. My journey deepened during high school, where I discovered my love for classical guitar. Under the guidance of esteemed instructors such as Duane Corn and Renato Butturi—a classical guitar performance professor at the University of Evansville—I honed my skills and developed a profound appreciation for the instrument.

I further expanded my expertise by attending a classical guitar workshop at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. During this time, I began composing original works for classical guitar, including several solo pieces and a three-movement composition for guitar trio, which was performed by the Lexington Guitar Trio.

While my roots are in classical guitar, my passion for composition has grown to encompass a wide range of instruments and styles. Today, I focus on media composition, creating music for film, documentaries, and video games. My work blends emotion, storytelling, and technical precision to craft scores that enhance the visual and narrative experience.
